Tomorrow morning, bright and early, my son in law and I will be making the 550 mile trip to Gadsden Alabama to pick up my Unique Cobra. The pick up time just happens to coincide with the annual Unique Homecoming. Big dinner on Friday and on Saturday the 60 Cobras that are scheduled to be there all go to Taladega to drive their cars. We should be back Saturday afternoon. I'll post some pictures if I can figure out how.

Randy,

I sure envy the feeling of anticipation that you must have right now, I remember it as a very exciting time. You picked the perfect time to go, Unique has a great following and customer base. I hear the Weavers put on quite the gathering. Have a fun trip, be safe.

Hey guys, I'm sorry its taken so long to get back on. Its amazing how busy you are after you retire. We got the car safely home on 3 May. At this point I have removed the body and put it on the body buck. I'm looking for a good body man and painter if anyone has any suggestions. I've got some picture that I promise to post.

Randy,
Glad to hear that you made the trip safely and things are moving along. Murrill Feldman at Custom Dreams Restorations has painted over 25 Cobra's and is very reasonable. Murrill is used to working with rusty steel and patch panels so straight glass is a nice diversion for him. He did my body work and paint in 2002 for $3,500. Materials have gone up of course but he's still very reasonable. I took him my body in "right out of the mold" condition and trailered the car down to Washington 2 months later to pick it up by mounting it at Murrill's shop as many others have done. Phone is 636-239-1240 if you want to talk to him. Tell him I sent you.

Randy,

Are you going with the 390 from Southern Automotive? I am very interested in hearing your thoughts as I am also thinking of buying an engine from them.

Clyde,

Bill and Susan are great people to work with. Take a trip down to Atlanta and visit with them. I purchased what they call the Super FE. A stroked 406 with a top loader. They are located about 2 hours east of Unique. He delivered the engine and installed it without any extra charge. Motor looks great. I won't run it till I get the body painted and back on the frame.

Randy,

You may want to talk with Ray Maserang at Walnut Creek Auto Body in Crestwood about the paint work. He primarily does classic car resto work and did an incredible job on his gulf colored GT40.
