Ok, almost embarassed to post this but here goes. I was in a big hurry to get out and cruise the Dragon Street Nationals today, but the battery was dead.

In haste I was under the car working quickly to replace the battery and accidently hit the aluminum on the trunk, created a spark and flames burst out as I realized I was laying under the gas tank:eek:. Needless to say I did change the battery (and my shorts) in time to cruise.

By the way, for all interested in a lake cruise, one of the attendees will be bringing his original 289! I will post pics of the car tomorrow.

Thanks, both of you are real helpful:mad: It actually sparked and was out before I knew what happened. The only casualty was a cut on my forearm when I rushed to get out from under the car.

But, let me get this straight, the crome fire thingy in the car is used to put out the fire?? So, if I point it at the fire, the fire will go out:cool:

Good stuff. Thanks.

Sorry dude, just trying to have a little fun :o. Seriously though, happy to hear that everything is ok and bringing to our attention the crazy stuff that can happen, even when you're prepared.
