My upcoming inspection

My appointment is at the highway patrol inspection station on Koch Rd June 18. My current inspection expired on June 5th. Do I have to get a current inspection? It was not me that did the feet dragging, it was the DMV that did not send me the letter to have the car inspected by the highway patrol. After the inspection, when will I be able to drive to Jefferson City? On one post on this forum I read that you had to wait for the title to come back from Jefferson City. I have all of the documentation as well as the historical license plate. Can I drive immediately after the highway patrol inspection to the DMV in Jefferson City?

When I took my paperwork to Jeff city my inspection was 2 months out of date. The gal at the DMV looked at it and asked me if I had a more current inspection and I stated "No, I had to wait Highway Patrol inspection for eight weeks." She shook her head and gave me my plates anyway. Can't say that the next person at the DMV will be so sympathetic but that logic worked for me. Good Luck
