I'm going to try to be there. The Cobra is down. The #@%@%^&! distributor shot craps...again. Replaced the coil last week after the snake and eggs tow and it fired right up, ran fine for about 20 miles and died again. Coil was hotter than h#ll. Different coil did not help this time. Tired of screwin with it. Ordered a Malory HEI set up from Jegs. Not sure if it will clear the hood since it is a coil over unit. Is the Mcnair deal an all day event??

McNair can be as long as you want it to be. Yes, it does start in the morning and awards are around 3 - 4pm if I recall correctly, however, you can come and go as you please if you aren't entering the judged part of the show. Lots of cars to see though.

Well, the Cobra has a new distributor and is running good. HEI unit just fit. Now it looks like the weather will be "broke" for the McNair car show. Darn the bad luck!! We'll see. I would guess if it rains much on Sat they will put it out until the 19th. Is there some where to look on line to see what is going on for Sunday just in case it's questionable??

In usual manner, I went to McNair Park today. But guess what? No car show. I won! The acceptance speech was great! I just ASSUMED Saturday......
I had on my club shirt and sunscreen. Oh, BTW, I was driving my son's Neon that I picked up after body repairs (again) so I did not win the Ford trophy, but the Dodge trophy.

I went to look only, checked radar on my cell phone and told judges hey you got about 20 min to get these cars out of here bad rain coming.. Get this, was told they have to hand out awards. I told this dope some of these guys have alot of money in their cars at least warn them not done very poor handling by lions club they sure got my vote !

We were the first to leave at 11:45 along with Mike B. We get home 15 minutes before the rain. All ok here. But man some of those guys with $150,000 cars got muddy and soaked for sure. They had all of the judging done by 11am - they should have called it then. The guy next to me had a NCRS Top Flight 1958 Vette - just perfect - never been wet - and didn't know what to do. I told him he'll get wet today if he didn't leave.
Thanks to Gary O, Mike B and Chuckie for showing up.
Here's some pictures - more in a gallery I created from today.

Great pictures Mark !! Thanks!! Glad you made it home before the sky's opened up. The temp dropped about every mile on the way home. Wasn't sure if I would make it dry. Had a half hour to spare. Gary and I were a lot closer than you. Didn'tbreak any laws on the way home, did ya ?!?!?! :D Great car show but we could have done without that 20% of the rain!

Great pics and I'm glad we were represented well. Went to the ballpark, and got to see one half inning of the futures all star game before the rain came. We stuck around the ballpark for 2 hours before calling it quits and heading to Chesterfield (54th Street) for a bite to eat and drink. Ended up being a 4 hour rain delay and they shortened the game to 7 innings which I watched at home.
I'm sure the Lion's Club guys didn't know what to do really either. It's just water, $150,000 car or not, it will dry out, spots will wipe off. Geez, if you can't even let rain hit your car, your really shouldn't get it out of your garage.

I'll be getting a phone upgrade so that I can get the butt radar like you have. That would have come in handy today. I had to call home and get radar updates.

Not just water you have high winds ( possible tree limbs falling ) good chance of hail and interior water stains come on now is this worth a $15.00 trophy for bragging rights don, t think so many of thes cars have alot of hours in them by the owners 1 is old chevy very limited this gentleman found in a lake and did very nice job making a street rod out of it over a 4 year period. Alot of money out there to be damaged by stupidity on the part of the lions club telling all the weather is fine after i showed them my radar screen on my phone. Its the handest idea ever put on a cell phone.
I looked at the Cobras at the show and also got to meet and talk to Mark. I went to the show early at 10:30 because the weather radar showed the line of storms were about two hours away. I joked with Mark about the weather. The four Cobras at the show all looked like show cars. Mark invited me to go on a cruise with the club. My car has stock Cobra Jet engine and I doubt if I could keep up with you guys. Your cars sure look great.
