Ok, so the old adage of you never have enough power? Or in my best Tim Allen imitation "More power!" I'm thinking of adding these:

Then getting a set of Super Cobra Jet heads. Richard Oben of North Racecars has a set of the SCJA's (fully assembled with roller rockers), an intake, and oil pan for $2,000. If I read the Ford Racing Catalog correct, the heads are about $1,000 each (someone double check me on this - SCJA for a 460 - M-6049-SCJA - Suggested retail price $1,050 (each or pair?)) Anyway, sounded like a good deal, so I'm getting more details about the intake and oil pan (which I don't need). This would bump my hp to 550 to 600 at the flywheel. Dangerous I know, but Danger is my middle name. :D

I thought it was Hollywood...
Stupid question...but worth asking, what type of tires, rear axle ratio and suspension are you running out back? 3 Link/4 Link? 3.55's? The limiting factor on these cars is transferring all of that power to the pavement...

Well, as we all know, one thing will lead to another, so I thought I would take advantage of these mods and swap out my rear gears (2.73) to a 3.31, swap over to a 3 link suspension, and go with different wheels with larger tires. Yes, I do have a budget in mind, and plan on spending every nickel. Hey, ever see an armored car in a funeral prosession? Told her about it tonight, and all she said was, you're never gettin' rid of that thing! Darn the luck! :D

Love the looks of that set-up. Go ahead and beef up your rear end, suspension, transmission brace and half shafts, etc. - but no matter what - you'll never actually put 600hp to the ground in these cars without full race slicks. It's all good though - you'll have plenty of fun - just plan on buying new rear tires once a year:D

Dave,
It's all about opening up the check book and being reciprocal and giving into their desires and hobbies...then they don't care how much you are spending...Just look at my driveway, new FJ for the wife, and the new 9yr old gelding paint horse...and the soon to be new horse trailer...oh yeah, the tack, feed, board, vet bills, etc. etc. you get the picture...
I told her I needed to get Clecos and the pliers from Aircraft Spruce and she laughed when I told her it was like $30 in tools...why are you even telling me this she says...wait till I order the engine!

Hey Scotty: My wive doesn't need any seminars on how 2 get even. It's the submissive 1 that she forgot 2 take in "Gettn Married 101." I don't think she knows how 2 spell it let alone what it means. Duck here comes another 1 of those fryn pans. :D

Well now...being somewhat partial to the stacks, I say GO FOR IT! It'd make a heluva addition to your Cobra! And who knows...if you can keep your foot out of it, you might see an increase in mpg! :)

With all of that power his rearview mirror will be shakin even more so than now...won't be able to see the coppers...let alone hear their siren...and with that much power could out run them until his tank runs dry!
