I had a great day at Master Tech Auto Service today!

They are in Ellisville at Manchester Rd and Old State - in a sort of Auto Plaza by Walgreens. 16109 Manchester Rd - 636-230-5115

I went in for my first oil change on the new engine (and new car). I had a check list from my engine builder for the tech to work through. Checking all sorts of bolts and stuff (can you tell - I'm not a mechanic?) - anyway - he carefully worked through the list - found no problems (whew), changed the oil, lube, adjusted the carb idle, and more. He worked clean - the car was draped with fender skirts, his hands we're clean, the shop was clean. All went well.

The price was reasonable (actually more than reasonable). Done by noon. I'll be using them from now on - since the work they did would take me all day - and I'd still mess it up -and make a mess of my garage.

The tech had a nice car too - a "juiced" BMW 5 series with 170,000 miles on it. It looked great. Props the the mechanic that has a nice car too! The owner Joel Beck cruises a 69 Firebird - so they're car guys. They also had a bone stock C3 Vette with a 454 in the shop - they are prepping for Bloomington.

When I was in the shop last week they we're working on a 98 SPF (silver) - so they know Cobras.

Got the front alignment done on my car today, and finally, finally, I am back on the road. :D
So, I can highly recommend Alignment Specialists Inc. in St. Charles. They are across the street from Fast Lane, small shop, took to him yesterday and he was done by 1 today. $112.50, but it drives straight, easy to steer (yippeeee!) and he does Cobra aligments alot. He had just finished another that is in progress being built by Ed. 636-925-1339, ask for Jim.

To tag on to this, I was sent here by Jeff at Olympic Automotive on Jungerman who is done with everything but paint on his Factory Five. I invited him to the club, and told him to check out the site and hoped to see him 5/3. We talked for an hour and half about our cars :D Anyway, Olympic Automotive 1385 Jungerman Road - 636-477-8400. They do everything BUT alignment and tires.

I went to grade school and high school with Jim. He has been doing alignments since high school. When I picked up my Cobra from Fastlane, Dave went over and picked Jim up so we could shoot the breeze. Good guy and really knows his stuff !!
