Anyone planning on going to RNG this year in Nebraska? I spoke to David Williams and I don't know that he is going. I kind of thought about it, but with my thoughts of going to London and the 2nd Supercruise, don't know if I can swing it financially. Randy L? Mark?

On the fence so far. There's a lot of choices this year, which I'm happy about. But there's not enough money for all of it.

It all depends on how much money I can win at Dave's poker party.

I won't be going the the RNG, but I'm going to try for Muncie too. I'm talking to Shelley about London.

Clois mentioned a traveling RNG. Besides here in St Louis, where would you travel to attend the event?

Mark, exactly my problem. Lots of choices, and with Steve posting the MVP offerings, may try something different.

I won't be going either. For about the same drive time and same $ I can get to Mid Ohio or Road America. As much as I enjoy hanging out with Cobra guys the American Lemans series is alot more bang for the buck for us non racers.

...for us non racers.

Tom:

That can be cured. Join us at one of the Putnam events and you'll be hooked.

IF I find the car I want prior to then, I will be going.

A driving time within the neighborhood of 3hrs would be nice. BUT, of course for Supercruise now that's different. :D

Just got back from 2 weeks on the beach, i have not decided yet but will probibly do a trac day at putnam and autobahn ??? I would really like to go but would have to build an enclosed trailer on my 16 ft trailer, too far to go with open trailer and with my record, car may not be driveable after event?

That's me Randy, I've kind of been looking to buy an enclosed trailer, but have to sell my boat first. So, no one other than Dean is going? So, Dean, if you read this, the traveling RNG may be a great idea.

BTW - topic is still RNG participants, not suntans.....

yeah, I'm reading it. Maybe you guys would rather have a "whine tour!"

You guys can join us at Putnam for a few laps. It is a lot of fun to get out on a real road course.

Who kows, you might even get a chance to put on a coat of wax in the paddock! ;)

Hmmm, and how many miles do you have on your car? Unless you have more than 11,000.....;)

I don't think I have half the miles on all my cobras added together! Thats a big number. It was just so quiet around here today, I thought I would drink a gallon of coffee and hit the forums.

Just stirring up some conversation on old threads.

Yeah, I know :D I really want to go to some track events, but also don't want to travel 8 - 9 hours to do it since there are so many tracks closer. Oh, and Steve, your clock just started over with a re-built engine :D

OK. So I only have 2,700 on the rebuilt motor. :)

Mark, great job on the new web site http://www.runngun.net as usual. I found out that me and you are going to Hastings for my birthday in september :D

Well Happy Birthday.

Pretty excited about it. Hopefully a few more GCCr's will go up too.
This year, I hope to concentrate more about my driving, and unwind from work (which really hurt in 2009).
I think the drive up - and total disconnect will really help me get into that zen.

So - let the big dog eat!

I hope more will come out and play. Gateway is a very tight and dangerous track. This is a totally different experience. If you like Gateway, you won't want to leave this place!

Ok, sort of got approval to go. Heck, Linda may go, but she wants to drive a go kart, and a golf cart if anyone is going to have one there :D Soooo, I thought I would go online and register, but, can't do it online. Um, got to do it the old fashioned way  Will be making my hotel reservations tomorrow before they sell out.

Dean - running slicks this year, does that put me in BB Prepared or something?

Dean, you mentioned RNG may be cancelled due to lack of registrations. To maybe give you a reason or two why I didn't register. One is I'm limited to the number of events I can attend and the amount of money I can spend on them. I had picked Putnam because of the distance and cost. I think Mark nailed it when he said that there are many more track event opportunities available than ever now. RNG is one of them. I hate to see a 'traditional' event cancelled due to lack of interest, or, is it lack of funds due to the economy? Mine is the latter. Bought a trailer this year, equipped it and spent money on getting setup to travel to events. Hope you understand, and thanks for your efforts on the event.

Tim, I do understand. I think the location is a problem and you are right, there is a lot of competition out there for you racing dollars. It might come back next year in a more central location. I am just a little tired of all the work. I just don't have that much fun anymore and I want to be just a driver and enjoy the event again.

Purple Venom

I really think you need more help too. Maybe a year break and attending other events will give you ideas to change/improve the event.
