The view is breathtaking from the tallest mountain in Arkansas - 2,753'. We arrived a little late, 4pm, and basically got acquainted with our surroundings. Grilled some steaks and had a Boy Scout dutch oven peach cobbler with 'homemade' vanilla ice cream. Enjoyed some great conversation and played cards. More to come tomorrow. later.

Hiked up about a mile to the very top of the mountain. This is the highest point in Arkansas. The stones are arranged in the shape of the state.

Well, that's it from here. Will be unable to check in the rest of the week, no access. The trip has been good and have enjoyed the additional time with my brother, uncle and dad. We wanted to come back to Petit Jean Mountain in November, but Dad says he doesn't want to. Says his eyesight is so bad, he really doesn't enjoy the views and feels he misses alot. I told him that the view wasn't the only reason for being here, that spending time with each other was. Hope he changes his mind. Taking Uncle and Daddy home tomorrow, then off to Harrison, Ar to see another Uncle who has pancreatic cancer. May be the last time I see him. I hope to be back in town Friday or early enough Saturday to make the Fox/Hound show. later dudes, and Oddball - stop hijacking threads
