Hello fellas, I am getting to ready to license my ERA FIA. I know there is a forum section designated for this, but it looks like it doesn't see much traffic. I have an appointment with HP on Koch Rd. on July 12.
Questions; My engine block is seasoned 87 302, no VIN, in which I purchased as a bare block and built the engine myself. Besides receipts, what kind of paper work am I going to need to get this engine titled as pre-emission?
The MSO from ERA for the kit does not indicate anywhere the year of the car it is trying to replicate (1964), is this a problem?
Thanks Wolfgang

They are going to want to see a notarized bill of sale or a copy of the title (both sides )of the car from which the block was pulled.
Troop C will write up there paper work as it being a 2011, when you go to Jeff City with your paper work (highly suggested vs mailing) it will get titled as the vehicle it most closely resembles( this is direct from there website), lobby for this as they will otherwise use whatever troop c writes down, as long as its titled as a 64 you have no worries about emissions.
MSO needs to be in your name otherwise a notarized bill of sale is needed.
I would call and talk with Chief Townes and review everthing that you may need to save yourself some time and trouble ahead of time,he was very helpful and courtious with me.
I just finished this whole process today,
Good luck
Keith

Don't forget form 551 with the top portion filled out

Wolfgang,
I did the same thing with my build, went thru Rolla instead of Troop C in Saint Louis. The only thing they asked for on my seasoned block was a Notarized bill of sale. You need some form of proof the block/motor wasn't stolen. Troop C can be a little more problematic than other locations but we are seeing much of it depends on the mood they're in. Some guys have breezed thru, others have run the gauntlet.

As long as you have a notarized bill of sale showing where the pieces (block/engine and transmission) came from, you'll be OK.
