Hey everyone.
My name is Dan Turnbull and I love cobras. Hard to believe for a chevy fan I know, but like most of us, I've loved them since I was a kid. Right now I'm still in the wanting stage. We're expanding our garage to recieve the new kit hopefully early next year. Would have been sooner but the tax man cometh and the tax man taketh away.:( Anyway, my youngest daughter wants to build the car with me and that was an opportunity I wasn't going to pass up. I'm an engineer, but I make my living as a software developer. I live in House Springs, so I'm definitely in the neighborhood to some of you. Scott told me about the forum and here I am. My plan is to build a Factory Five complete kit with dual roll bars and a carbed engine. Still trying to decide if it will be Ford or Chevy though. :) Well off to work. I'll try to make the next meeting. BTW I love the pictures. They're inspiring me to stick with it.

Hi Dan and welcome!! My boys were a little too young when I built mine and I keep tossing around the idea of building another so they can get their hands dirty. I've talked with a lot of people that were able to build their cars with their kids and all of them say the experience is priceless. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting if you can make it.

Hello Dan, and welcome. If you want even more inspiration, just come to the meeting and take a ride in one. I did not build mine, bought it from Fast Lane, and have been making improvements and changes for the past 2 years. I went there with the intent of checking out two manufacturers for kit cars, Factory Five and B&B (made in Springfield, MO). The B&B kit wasn't near as nice as the Factory Five, and once I drove it, that was it. I have two boys that I thought would be a big help in building a car. In retrospect, I'm kind of glad I didn't go that route as they are both in to their own things (one is about to be 19 and one is 16) so girls and their own cars come first. Maybe down the road when they get older it will be something they want to do. I'm glad to hear your daughter is interested as there aren't too many girl grease monkey's out there :D Hope to see you soon. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q234/Hawgwild06/grape.gif

Yeah, I'm lucky with her. She's not so much a grease monkey as like to go fast. Don't know where she gets it from. ;) She's really into science and wants to be an inventor and I thought this would be a good experience for the both of us and I'd finally get my cobra! Hope to see you all soo and I'll definitely take that ride for more inspiration! :D L8r
