Guys,

I hate to think it, but I am starting to really feel the pinch, and as much as I don't want to...my family has to come before my hobby. We have medical necessities that we are having trouble justifying the money for. That's not right.

My goal is to get this thing running and rolling, and get the body on and take it from there. If the job market has not improved (which I doubt it will), I'm probably going to sell the car. It will be easier to sell if it runs and just needs paint.

Thought I would put this out there and see if anyone local has an interest.

Mind if I give you name and number to a friend to call you direct on this? He was at one point, looking to go in to business building these, but changed his mind. He may still be looking at this type of project.

Sure. You've seen what I have done. I have given a lot of attention to my project, unfortunatly I cannot give it a lot of $$ anymore and have pretty much slowed to a stop on the build.

I sold some stuff on ebay last week, and was able to buy a remanuf. alternator which came today. I've got a couple of loose ends with the wiring, charging, and cooling system and it's ready to run.

I'm off tomorrow (thanks to my 10% pay reduction) so maybe I will get some things done on it. I may be volunteering some time at the horse stable to help offset the bills there.

Thanks,
Scott

Uhhhh....Exactly how do you plan to make money with the hores...?:eek::eek:

Reminds me of the Eddie Murphy line:

"Send $29.95 for....How to make a million dollars...drive pink Caddilacs...and kick Ho's in the butt..."
:D

being a carpenter by trade for 30 years i know the ups and downs of the industry
i have worked directly for a GC which are architects as well, and they are at a standstill which in turn reflects on me and my business of being one of there superintendents.
All i can say is stay with it, i ordered my kit on 12/31/08 and i didn't even have 60 hours worth of labor payed to me in Dec. ordering it made me feel like i do when i got a nice job to start and the begining of the plans and scheduling that i like so much, its always an adventure every job. but not having a steady one i know all about it. i say stay with it
so your kids can enjoy it too!!! good luck Leo :)
remember always this, "esprit du corps" it makes things happen!!!

Scott, sorry to hear this news. It is not a good time time to sell, I got lucky and it took a while. This economy is really making me think twice about building something else. Hang in there and if there is anything I can do, let me know.

Well...I was working on the dash covering and guages last night, and Michelle saw how happy I was, and came out to the garage and told me I should really keep the car. She said I have lost less money with this car than with my two retirement accounts this last quarter. Sad thing is, she's right.

Thanks for the offer Mike. I think I will have everyone over for a first start/first Go-Cart/body mounting build party.

What the heck, why not do it all at once.

i was going to build a large addition had my drawings all done material costs are down
but decided the big investment in my house was not worth it now with housing prices down
so went for the build equity Leo

Glad to hear it Scott. I even mentioned it to my Shelley. Even she agreed with the logic. WOW! Can't wait to see you out on the road. Let us know when the start date is.

Scott, I wasn't really offering to help, I just wanted to get close enough to low ball ya and pick up your kit cheap. ;) Glad things are going to work out for you.
