He's Mark - He's planning a build. He did not sign up - but I hope we didn't scare him off.
Welcome Mark!

Yep, I was the only guy without a car last night.:( (but I'm planning to change that status, it's just a long-term plan)
I'm still doing my research and hope to start a Factory Five build next year.

HECK NO you didn't scare me off! The only thing that scared me was Mark's 588 Cubic Inches!

I really enjoyed the meeting, THANKS a bunch. I plan on joining at next month's meeting.
Seeing everyone's beautiful cars and hearing the work they're doing motivated me further.
I like the idea of work partys and would be VERY interested in signing up to help and learn from some other guys. I'm not a mechanic but I've worked on many cars and like probably most of the members, I'm a perfectionist and gear-head. I also enjoy almost any kind of 4-wheel motorsport: went to the National and Nostalgia Drags last year, LMP in Lakehart the year before (LOVE those Vettes!), Indy, IRL, NASCAR, Dirt Oval, etc. (Vintage Trans-Am is actually my favorites!) And attended countless Car shows and built a 9'x21' portable slot car track that was featured at the St. Louis Auto Show last weekend!
Have always enjoyed cars. The Run n Gun sounds like a lot of fun!
In the 60's, my dad and I built on of the first fiberglass dune buggies in St. Louis and while I was in college we built an MG-TD (he still has it!).

My current daily cruiser is a Camaro Convertible (please don't stone me) and I had 2 really nice MG Midgets before, so I'm not a stranger to convertibles or 2 seaters, I LOVE them.
I've been wet and cold for many years and looking forward to doing it again.

I met a great bunch of guys last nite and look forward to getting to know everyone better and seeing their cool cars.

GREAT Club! Thanks for the opportunity.

BigLeo69, I'd love to take a look at it in April, just let me know what's good for you.
I'm in the sponge stage, absorbing everything I can. I'm not a master mechanic (far from it) but I'm more than willing to help if you need a second set of hands (I have 21 year old son if you need a third set). And I'm also good for bringing Beer!

Don't know if STL Mark is listening, but in another club I was in, we had folks from all over St. Louis, St. Charles, and parts of Illinois and our webmaster created a map with "push-pins" of where everyone was located. I checked out the Member List, but don't know if there is a way to see where everyone is located (may be helpful for identifying meeting and get together locations).

Tomorrow is supposed to be 55 degrees, so i'm planning to wash & wax the 'Maro (and maybe take a couple trips with the top down, still a little chilly but that what coats & heaters are for!), but I hope you guys can enjoy it as well.

Ok, I need to loggoff so I can get some work done in the office!
later guys! this is going to be a fun ride!:D

btw BigLeo69, I tried to teach my Fiance (now my lovely wife) how to drive my MG Midget one day. It had a very stiff clutch, but ran great. She killed it in a busy intersection 3 times! I told her to switch places, lesson over. She married me anyway, but that was the last stick lesson!

We also entered a Road Rally (once) with the MG club. She became car sick and couldn't read the map, so we got lost, came in dead last, and showed up at the bar-b-q after the food was put away. Besides that, the wind mussed her hair.
I can't wait to take her out @ 110mph! That will really do a number on her hair!

Mark, I'm a little closer to you than Tim, I live in House Springs, and my body is off as well. If you want, PM me and we can try to set up a time to come by. I'll be running in and out most of the weekend, but i should be home Saturday morning.

Ditto's...I'm still in the building phase of a complete kit Mk. 3.1 Factory Five - working on electrical wiring in anticipation of a first start soon...but I still can't get over these guys who are taking apart their completed cars for "upgrades"

I'm out in West County. If you want to see my whole build process, join the club! We have "members only" pages of each of our projects. Some post more than others.

If you want a quick look see, here is a link to my photobucket account:

STL-Scott, I spent 15 minutes viewing your pictures! Simply awesome! I'd love to take a look at it firsthand! Very cool, looks like a first class build. Makes me drool!:D

The more I see, the more questions I have. I'm going to need to start a notebook!

Great! I'm getting nothing done at work today!

Get use to it! I've been a member of the Factory Five forum for almost a year...and have had my roadster since last May and it's mostly what I think about now...some call it curse.

Garage is always open to visitors if given enough notice!
